It seems like yesterday that when you wanted to record your home movies you’d have a giant video camera that you rest on your shoulder, insert a VHS cassette and press record, only to find the battery will go dead in about 5minutes. Things have moved on a long way since then and it seems to be taking a long time for people to realise.
The age of the home video camera is over, purchasing a device aimed for the soul use of capturing video just isn’t necessary for your normal home user any more. The majority of home video cameras today will record in standard definition with the higher end ones pushing up to 720p which is fantastic quality and more than anyone would ever need for such a purpose. The thing is, you could buy a camera that you will use twice a year and spend the rest of the time in a closet or you could get yourself an iPhone for free from freebiejeebies, a device that can promise a high quality and retain it’s usage all year round.
