The Joint’s A Rockin: Keeping Arthritis At Bay

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

Sore, aching knees, hips, fingers, backrest. Pain after excessively much activity. Pain after overly little. Eventually, almost everyone gets degenerative arthritis. Sometimes it’s the result of decades of wear-and-tear on the shock-absorbing cartilage that prevents bone from rubbing against bone. Sometimes it starts sooner, after an injury to the knees or other joints.

“By the age of 70, nearly everyone has degenerative joint disease, though not completely suffer the symptoms,” says Roland Moskowitz, professor of medicine and director of the Northeast Ohio Multipurpose Arthritis Center at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. How To Write A Research Paper

Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

Introduction

Writing skills are essential for succeeding in high school, college, and at a job. Writing is not just an end result, but also a process that helps us develop our ideas and think logically. Begin by brainstorming topics, collecting information, taking a lot of notes, and asking a lot of questions. Keep your notes and sources organized as you go.

When developing a topic, one should look for patterns and relationships, try to draw conclusions, try discussing one’s ideas with classmates, teachers and parents. A new os diffrent perspective can help shake up ones thinking.

How to get Started

The first step towards writing a quality research paper is to organize what is to be written. It is always nice to develop an outline to help to stay on track as we write, identifying the main points and what is to be the conclusion. The introduction should give your reader an idea of the essay’s intent, including a basic statement of what the essay will discuss. One should always keep the basic outline of a simple easy first and follow it , further changes can be made as required but the basic layout is followed always. The following are the parts of the basic layout of an essay or a research paper:

-The Introduction
-The Body
-The Conclusion

The introduction should give the reader an idea of the essay’s or papers intent, including a basic statement of what the essay will discuss. The body presents the evidence that supports the writers idea. Here concrete examples should be used and generalities should be avoided as much as possible. The conclusion should summarize and make sense of the evidence presented by the writer in the body (The Keys to Effective Writing, 2005).

These are the steps to be followed before writing any kind of paper or essay. After these basic guidelines are followed ammendments can be made according to the nature of the research paper and according to the different writing styles. Writing College research papers

College courses demand many different kinds of writing that employ a variety of strategies for different audiences. During college, it may be required to write long essays or short answers in response to examination questions or one may be asked to keep a journal, write a lab report, and document the process one uses to perform research. College writing or writing college research papers, also called academic writing, is assigned to teach the critical thinking and writing skills needed to communicate in classes and in the workplace. The quality of one’s writing depends on the quality of the thinking one does about his topic or his assignment.

The whole writing process is divided into three steps namely prewriting, writing, and rewriting or revising phases.

-Prewriting: In the prewriting phase one ponders over the questions like what he has to write about, what are his feelings about the topic to be written, how is the topic to be approached, how to organize the materials and the audience who will be reading the paper.

-Writing: In this phase the plan is implemented by working out the details and fine-tuning thoughts.

-Rewriting: In the phase of rewriting or revising, the material or paper written is reviewed and techniques to for improving it are applied.

During these steps, there are some phases, which also take place before the final draft of the research paper is ready. The first phase would be understanding the assignment or research topic, which has been explained as prewriting earlier. Understanding the assignment or the research topic includes thinking over the fact that what kind of research topic it is and what is the main purpose of the research topic. Then in this context comes the issue of using systematic techniques such as the use of classic strategies, these strategies are ways to develop or organize a research paper, these include definition, division and classification, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, and process analysis.

Another important factor is looking at the topic from a multiple perspective, when a topic is viewed from multiple points of view; relationships which have not occurred before are visible. This approach invites the writer to look at the topic as an entity, as a process or a part of a process, and as a system or part of a system (The Writing Process, 2005).

Doing exploratory research is included here with the prewriting techniques because library research often is a way to generate ideas. As we review the literature on a subject or read in a particular area, we may note ideas that will help us get started with the writing. Analysis, the basis of many other strategies, is the process of breaking something into its parts and putting the parts back together so that one can better understand the whole. When we focus on understanding something better by comparing and contrasting it to something else, we identify and analyze the similarities and differences. Synthesizing information, all the opinions and research in support of the thesis or research paper are incorporated together. The relevant facts, statistics, expert opinion, and whatever can directly be observed with your own opinion and conclusions to persuade the audience that the thesis is correct is integrated. Synthesis is used in supporting the thesis and assembling the paper. In applying the strategy of evaluation after synthesis, first, the criteria to be used to evaluate the subject will be established and then applied to the specific parts of the subject that is being judged, and conclusions would be drawn that whether it meets the criteria.

The final draft is what we hand in as the completed paper. Before turning in the final draft, we should read what we have written all the way through at least once more. a black pen on the final paper. Choppy sentences, poor or nonexistent transitions between paragraphs, grammar and spelling errors, and other characteristics of a first draft should all disappear

Save Time And Gas Earning Your Degree Online!

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

It used to be that if you wanted to go to college and earn a degree, you a little financial aid from your parents and a little more from a part time job. That worked when life moved at a slower pace, a few years back but in todays fast paced lifestyle, it would be near impossible to work and go to school simultaneously. There just isnt enough time in the day. Factor in the high cost of schooling and its easy to see why so many people are frustrated when trying to figure out a way to get a college education.

One thing you can do to make getting a degree more affordable is apply for grants and student loans. That will help with the cost of schooling itself but what about transportation from school and work? The cost of gasoline is forcing many people to simply stay home. One remedy would be to earn your degree at home with an online course.

Because of the increasing demand, many universities are developing online classes and programs today. A quick Google search will reveal dozens of well known universities that offer courses. Colorado Tech University has a program that is very much like attending the university offline. You start by paying your $50 enrollment fee and then work towards getting accepted into your classes. Just like being in the offline world you will be interviewed and assessed, youll have to prove yourself before you can start class.

If you are thinking that entry to an online school has got to be easier that an offline one, think again. Before online schools will even consider you, you have to write a reason why they should consider your application. Youll be asked questions that will be centered on why you want to get a degree, why you think you could master the courses and why you chose their particular school. Going through this process is common among online universities these days so be prepared to make a good impression.

Now if youre thinking that going to school online is going to save you a ton of money, not so. A college education is expensive. Weather you go offline or online, be prepared to spend a small fortune for your education if you are going for more than just a basic degree.
Associates, Doctrines, Masters, PHD or Bachelors degrees are pretty much necessities if you want to get ahead of the competition. In fact, even an Associate Degree doesnt hold the status that it once did. That being said, the standard degree will cost you around 20 thousand dollars and that is a conservative amount.

Instead of the traditional classrooms with a professor, your classrooms will be labs and chat rooms where you can go online to get help with about anything you need. You WILL need to learn and exercise MPA/APA style, since this is the best method for online courses. Common courses offline focus on various other styles, but online you will have to master APA/MPL otherwise you may face penalties.

There are a few colleges online, such as Professional Career Development that are less extreme but you will be earning nothing more than a degree, or else Associates. These classes are inexpensive and the workload is less dramatic so for some this is a plus. The downside is you will not have cyber libraries with this college. You can receive help from instructors, but as in most cases you do get what you pay for – you have to reach long and far to get the help you will need to earn your degree.

How To Have An Above Average IQ Score

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

What is the average IQ score? In theory the tests are designed so that half the population will score below 100 and half above, and are scored according to age of the test taker. Here is a breakdown of IQ scores in the typical population:

130 or higher: 2.2% of the population.

120-129: 6.7% of the population.

110-119: 16.1% of the population.

90-109 (Average): 50% of the population.

80-89: 16.1% of the population.

70-79: 6.7% of the population.

Below 70: 2.2% of the population.

Three Steps To An Above Average IQ Score

Is it possible for anyone to have an above average IQ score? Not likely. If you start at 70, for example, it would be tough to ever score over 100. The good news is that most people can raise their score somewhat from wherever they start. Here are three ways to do it:

1. Be a better test taker. Go through the test quickly. Skip over questions you aren’t sure about, and return to them later. It’s always better on a timed test to answer all the easy questions first. That way you don’t eave several questions unanswered just because you spent too much time trying to get the answer to a tough one.

Always answer every question on multiple choice tests. When in doubt, first eliminate the answers that you know or suspect are incorrect, and then choose one of the remaining. If you eliminate two of four answers on a number of questions, you’ll get half of those questions right on average.

2. Have the right conditions in place. Get good sleep before the test, breath deeply through your nose, and sit up straight. These are shown to improve performance on almost any test. Eat fish too. Recent studies show that eating fish speeds up brain waves and increases concentration.

If you’re allowed music, make it Mozart. If you can’t have music during the test, listen to it just before. In one study, subjects who listened to Mozart’s sonata for Two Pianos in D Major, K. 448 for ten minutes before an IQ test scored nine points higher. Do whatever you can to have your body and mind ready for the test.

3. Exercise your brain. This is a longer term strategy that assumes you can actually permanently improve your brain function and intelligence, and thus increase your average IQ score. It’s a safe assumption in my experience, and no harm will come from the effort.

One final tip. It is my experience that my score is higher on an IQ test the second or third time I take it. Why not practice by taking an online test the day before your scheduled test? I wouldn’t be surprised if this bumps up the average IQ score by a point or two.

Your Body Is An Engine

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Growing up around surface coal mining and machines with engines, I learned a lot about how engines work and the basics that they need. Now today learning about nutrition I find some similarities. Stay with me here. It will make sense, I hope. The needs of your body are similar to the needs of the engine in your car. These needs are Fuel, Air, and Spark. By the way, you must have realized by now that I am a very simple minded person with a very simple mind. To simplify, this article I will address just one of these needs. Fuel

Compare this: Your car engine needs fuel. So does your body.

The gasoline you put in your car has to be clean with no pollutants. If it is contaminated you will experience symptoms. Lack of power especially when needed like going up a hill, spit sputter and backfiring, your engines way of saying Help!! I am not getting the nutrients I need and it may even stop running all together. (Bad, very Bad if this is your body.) To fix the symptoms, all that is needed (if you do this soon enough) is to purge the engine of the impurities and make sure that the new fuel is clean and proper.

Your body is no different, if what you eat is contaminated you will experience the symptoms of being tired, no power, you can also spit, sputter (vomit), and backfire (diarrhea). Again the cure is as easy as giving the body the clean and proper foods it needs. AHH, but now you may ask what are the proper foods.

Remember when you were taught that there were four basic food groups? We were instructed to eat from all four-food groups to get a balanced meal.

1. Dairy
2. Meat
3. Grain
4. Fruits and vegetables. Sounds easy EXCEPT

YOUR DIET CAN AND DOES CAUSE ILLNESS. SAY WHAT? TED

Have you ever suffered from one of the following? Indigestion, heartburn, tiredness, headaches, mood swings, aching joints, constipation, allergies, hypoglycemia, diabetes, high blood pressure, yeast overgrowth, just to name a few.

The problem may not be just the foods you are eating, but what Foods you are Mixing together that is causing a TOXIC CONDITION in the body, especially in the digestive tract.

OH, now you have really done it. This is sounding too confusing.

Learning about Nutrition is an in-depth study, but you can learn the basic dos and donts.

Here is one easy example, Fruits: The rule for fruit is to eat it alone or leave it alone.

Dont mix with other food groups.

I was taught very young that if you arent learning you are dying. Is it worth the effort??

When you first get up in the morning, are you still tired? Look in a full body mirror, look close, do you like what you see? Is your life abundant and Healthy?

Rascal Flatts: One of Country Music’s Succesful Groups

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Rascal Flatts is a country music group made up of Gary LeVox (lead vocalist), Jay DeMarcus (bassist), and Joe Don Rooney (electric guitarist). Upon getting a record deal with Lyric Street Records, the group released their first album, Rascal Flatts, which would climb up to the #3 spot on the U.S. country albums chart.

The groups next album, Melt, would peak at #5 on the U.S. albums charts and #1 on the U.S. country albums charts. Rascal Flatts, next two albums, Feels Like Today and Me and My Gang, both debuted at #1 on both the U.S. general and country music charts.

In 2003, the Rascal Flatts would find themselves waist deep in controversy, stemming from their controversial music video for I Melt, off of their Melt album. Some fans objected to the music video, which contained brief nudity of model Christina Auria in some sensual scenes with group member, Rooney.

While such a music video would hardly cause a stir on MTV or VH1, being showcased on the more conservative CMT and Great American Country music channels, the video inevitably brought the group much notoriety. The Melt album would garner the Rascal Flatts their first No. 1 country single, These Days.

In 2005, the group performed their hit single Bless the Broken Road live with contestant Carrie Underwood, on the popular television program American Idol. That same song was nominated for three Grammy awards including Song of the Year, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and Best Country Song. The group would take home the Grammy award for Best Country Song.

How to Choose a Tractor

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Finding the best tractor that suits your needs can be easier than you might think. Here are a few simple steps to follow as you look at tractors

You first need to determine your needs and figure out what you need your tractor to do. Do you have an acre or two that needs mowed once or twice a week, or do you need a tractor for mowing, towing, snow plowing, carrying items, gardening or harvesting fields? Be sure to get enough tractor so that it will be able handle the attachments you are going to use

Diesel or Gas?

Do you need a gasoline or diesel.powered tractor? For most residential, mowing applications gasoline powered tractors are the way to go. If you have more than five acres and plan on doing some plowing, hauling, heavier mowing and adding any attachments then diesel is probably the tractor of choice.

Lawn Tractors

Lets look first at your average lawn mower. Something that will be pretty much be used for mowing and nothing else. Your average “lawn tractor” can range anywhere from $1500 – $4500 and range from 15HP- 25HP with gasoline engines. Good reliable used lawn mowers can be purchase from a few hundred dollars up to $3000 depending on age and condition. Some of the higher HP model lawn tractors can also be used for occasional snow plowing and other heavier tasks but are best suited for mowing with or without a grass catcher and pulling a cart. Most all lawn tractors are belt driven with limited parts availability and are designed to last a short period of time.

Garden Tractors & Compact Tractors

Next lets look at property owners that have 3 – 15 acres and the need for plowing, gardening, mowing, cutting and loading. In my opinion we have two classes of tractor we can look at here. You can consider a “garden tractor” or a “compact tractor”. A garden tractor is a tractor that is really a lawn tractor with a heavier built to it and with the capability of some attachments like a tiller, a blade, snowblower and larger mower decks (usually 54in – 60in decks). Most garden tractors are also shaft driven and can last for many years if properly maintained and not pushed beyond their limits. They can be gasoline or diesel. They usually sell new for $6000 – $10000 with a mowing deck, and can be purchased used for $2500 – $6000 depending on condition.

My personal recommendation for this scenario would be a “compact tractor”. A compact tractor is basically a miniature tractor with full size tractor capabilities such as mowing, cutting, loading, digging, tilling, plowing and hauling. They have diesel engines ranging in size from 15HP – 30HP. Most of them have full hydraulics, 4WD, mid and rear PTO’s, high and low range, roll over protection and are built to work. They have a life expectancy of up to 30 plus years if properly maintained. Parts are readily available. These compact tractors can handle many implements like large belly mowers up to 72in., rear mowers, tillers, blades, loaders, plows, backhoes, sweepers and more. The reliability of these tractors makes for a great used tractor. A new compact tractor with a mower can range from $10000 – $20000, depending on the size and model. Great used compact tractors can be found for as low as $5000.

Farm Tractors

If farming is in your future and you have many acres to tend to, you are best advised to consult with a dealer or fellow farmer before making a purchase. There are many, many choices when it comes to large tractors and farming equipment and it is best to make sure you get the right equipment the first time as these tractors can be a very large investment. Once you have the specifics you need, then search for a new or used tractor that will meet your exact needs for HP, and capabilities.

Pricing

Before you get sticker shock, realize that tractor purchases are long term commitments and that with proper maintenance and use they can last for 30 years or more. When you consider the life span and work they do, the prices will seem reasonable.

Attachments can also seem expensive as well. A loader for example will cost $3000 – $5000. A simple blade can run $300 – $500.

Once you have a tractor and some attachments, you’ll wonder how you ever did without them. I remember when I purchased my compact Kubota several years ago. I took my wife with me and I bought a 60in mower and a loader with it. When my wife saw the price she about died! Since we’ve owned it, she has on many occasion told me that it has been such a great thing to have. We only have 5 acres but get so much use from the loader. I don’t know what we ever did without it!

Gray Market Tractors

Because good used tractors are so reliable, there is a high demand and a relatively low supply of them and good used tractors sell very quickly. A tempting way of saving money is buying an “off-brand” tractor or a gray market tractor. These are usually imported machines designed for use in other markets, being sold semi-legally here. While they can be much cheaper than standard tractors, there are a couple of significant drawbacks.

One is that the PTO systems are not always compatible with US standards. Many of them do not have a mid PTO which is needed if you want a belly mower. A second issue is parts availability. It can be difficult or impossible to find replacement parts here if it’s a model designed for use in other markets.

What ever you do, make sure you buy a tractor that will do what you need it to. The worst thing you can do is to push the equipment beyond it capabilities. It not only significantly shortens the life span but can be dangerous as well.

Before making your purchase, do your research. Check with other owners, dealers, web forums and manufactures sites for information. When your ready to make the purchase be sure to check here with Tractor Shopper for deals on your next new or used tractor!

Skin cancer and sun exposure whilst at work

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

As summer and the long days of prolonged hot sunshine is upon us once again, the natural instinct to remove items of clothing as the sun comes out is evident. But could your employer be liable if you suffer from skin cancer as a result of removing clothing and not being supplied skin protection cream or sun lotions?

An extensive search for court rulings in which an employer was held responsible for one of their staff contracting skin cancer whilst at work has provider no evidence and no case law provided. However this does not mean that an employer in the future might be found liable if they do not protect their employees welfare whilst at work.

The risks created by the suns rays should never be ignored, but what is being said is that you as an employee are not completely responsible for your own skin protection and employers to some extent must take ownership of the associated risks.

Free sun protection creams and guidance information on the risks of sun exposure should be supplied to employees if they are exposed for considerable amounts of time in the sun, as an example lets think about external workers such as builders, external landscapers etc.

A suggestion if you are spending prolonged periods of time in the sun to protect yourself is to when ever possible wear long sleeved, loose fitting clothing. Not only will this protect your skin, it will also help to keep the body temperature down and also minimise the risk of a heat stroke. Your employer could supply light weight clothing which allows the body top breathe in all weathers or prohibit the removing of clothing for their own safety.

Advise on using sun barrier creams could be instigated and the rule to use these for skin protection mandatory whilst exposed to the sun. A sun protection of no less than Sun Protection Factor (SPF) 15 should be used as this will provide adequate protection.

Also advice on breaks that they should be taken in doors or in the shade out of the suns rays is another way protection can be offered. If temperatures are particularly hot then, your employer might want to consider being flexible with break allowances incorporating more frequent short rest breaks out of the sun. This time could be used to apply more protection barrier creams and to re hydrate by drinking more fresh cold drinking water.

Choosing The Best Hockey Pads And Other Equipment Like Skates

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Skates, along with your helmet and pads are probably the most important part of your hockey gear. When choosing the best hockey skates, like choosing the best hockey pads, you should take into account all of the different brands and find a size and style that fits you best. Dont simply buy the first pair of skates you see, but rather shop around and try a few different options to find the ultimate fit.

When trying on a pair of skates you should have your heel tucked back into the heel cup, and there should be no more than about a quarter inch or so in the toe. If your ankles are weak, make sure to ask for a skate with good ankle support. When it comes to skates you will also want to ensure that you have blades with through-hardened steel with a flat rocker. A flatter rocker curve will improve your stability.

Now on to the pads Ideally you want pants that are long enough to reach past the top of your shin pads. If your pants are too short, they’ll leave a small area unprotected which is a prime target for being slashed. You pads can only do so much. Make sure the hard caps in your shoulder pads, elbow pads and shins are intact and in good condition. If you need to, replace your pads on a regular basis. Having old worn pads might be comfortable but it might not give you the protection you need.

When it comes to your mask, you should spare no expense. While the budget option might be cheap, you need to make sure that the outer part of the mask is composed of a strong space-polymer material, and the inside of the mask contains foam. This design should be able to resist impacts while absorbing the shock at the same time. Some cheaper masks cannot offer this, so you do need to be careful. If in doubt, ask your sports supplier, for brands they recommend.

The things you don’t want to scrimp on are your skates, your pads and your helmet. Ensure that your helmet has been approved by a regulatory commission for your own safety. Pads are pretty much standard in most leagues now and flat lined curved skates are recommended for recreational and new players. Above all, you need to remember, to have fun!

Self-Publish Your Book With National Distribution

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Many writers struggle with constant rejection from the publishing world. A rejection, though a part of the industry, is difficult for writers at any stage in their career. You pour your heart and soul into a book, along with hours of work, only to hear a publisher indicate that it isnt what they are looking for at this particular time. Many books that were otherwise snubbed by traditional publishing houses have gone on to be very popular. How? Its simple. Self-publishing is an avenue that many new, or rejected, writers pursue.

When you hear self-publishing, perhaps you think about writing a book and taking it to a printer, paying for copies and doing all of the footwork to get your new work listed with major bookstores. But, thanks to the internet and an innovative new approach to publishing, thats no longer the case. Sure, you still have to pen the book yourself but leave the printing up to someone else. A growing number of POD (print on demand) publishers are stepping up in search of the next bestseller. Print on demand is a term used to describe a publisher who handles all of the printing aspects, but on an as-needed basis.

The best self-publishing companies offer a variety of programs with the majority of them handling the issuance of an ISBN number and getting your book cataloged with all of the major online bookstores, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, etc. In addition, when a book is issued an ISBN number, it can be ordered at any bookstore. Your book may or may not be physically stocked at your local shopping mall, but the bookstore inside will have the capability to order it as requested. As your new title is listed nationally with every major bookstores catalog, it will steadily surface globally as well. A year after your book is released; dont be surprised if search engine results show that it is listed with major online bookstores across the world, including Japan, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, etc.

With print on demand publishing, or self-publishing, you will have to pay a fee to get your book in print. Longtime publisher iUniverse (http://www.iUniverse.com) offers publishing packages starting at $499.00 and up. In exchange for the startup fee, the company issues a printed version of the book while the author retains all electronic rights to the work and a 3-year contract with a 1-year automatic renewal. A generous 20% royalty is offered on the sale of every book with quarterly statements mailed to the author.

If you have been turned away by traditional publishers, or simply want to retain full control over your book, its cover design and content, self-publishing may be the way to go. If you have never been published, it is difficult to find a traditional publisher. With self-publishing, you will have documentation of your previously published work and royalty statements to show its success. Once your book is published, get out there and promote your work. Its the best way to take your career from new to permanent status.

Taking Care Of Inner Health

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Taking Care of Inner Health 1.

Inner health is a very important subject because 95% of life threatening diseases starts inside our bodies where we cant see what is happening. By ignoring symptoms we often allow the problem to increase until treatment becomes difficult or, in the worst cases, impossible. It is also true that one hour of prevention is far better than one year of treatment. In this article we will look at the main source of body fuel the food that we eat and, more importantly, how we eat it. But before going into that subject there are other things we should not be doing:

1. No smoking.
2. No drinking alcohol to excess.
3. No taking of unprescribed drugs.

This article is written on the assumption that you abide by the three rules above.

What we eat is the starting point. There is no point in eating foods that are saturated in fat as your basic diet and complaining that you are overweight and/or feel unwell. Of course you do because this is self-inflicted by inadequate diet. A good diet requires daily intake of the five major food groups that we have covered extensively in previous articles.

Small meals taken regularly (even six meals each day) are better for you than long periods without food followed by a heavy meal.

Large, rich, meals late at night should be avoided, especially for older people. A cooked meal at midday is digested better than a late night meal.

You should drink at least one and a half quarts (1.5 liters) of fluid each day; much more if the weather is hot. If you become ill you should double your fluid intake. Water is best.

Improving your diet is not as difficult as most people claim. In most instances it is simply a case of adjusting the balance of what we eat. Here are a few tips:

Eat more fiber in the form of fruit, vegetables and whole grain bread. In addition add two tablespoons of coarse bran to your breakfast cereal. This provides bulk, or roughage, that your digestive system depends upon to function properly.

Cut down on fat, normally taken in fast foods and fries etc. Eat more lean meat, fish. Grill rather than fry foods where possible.

Eat less sugar (This means no sodas because the average can of soda contains an equivalent of 20+ Tablespoons of sugar equivalent) Do not drink beer with meals because beer stops your body from breaking down fats. Water is the best drink followed by low calorie drinks and unsweetened fruit juices.

Walk for at least half an hour each day. Park your car at the furthest parking space from the supermarket; the exercise will increase your lifespan. If possible use stairs rather than escalators. All of these small things, together with your balanced diet, will increase your health and lifespan.

Preparing for Your Abdominoplasty

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

bdominoplasty, also known as the “tummy tuck”, is a surgical procedure that reduces the protrusion of the belly. It also increases skin elasticity when that property is lacking.
Abdominoplasty is a relatively common procedure and is not too difficult a task for a well-trained plastic surgeon.

To determine whether or not you should get an abdominoplasty, visit a plastic surgeon. Your surgeon will take the necessary measurements and tests. The results arising from these tests will determine your qualification and fitness for the operation.

It is important that you inform your surgeon about any medications you are taking, such prescription drugs, multivitamins, or even illegal drugs. If you have had any unusual physical ailments in the past, or if your family has a history of a particular medical condition, mention that as well.

While the results of abdominoplasty are generally positive, you should be aware that there are certain risks that come with the procedure. As with all other operations, post-operative complications are a concern. Poor healing, blood clots, and infection can possibly mar the success of the operation. While relatively rare, these three complications are always a possibility.

To decrease the chances of any complications arising, you must listen closely to your surgeons instructions and follow them closely. This especially applies to the period immediately before surgery and the period immediately after. Be especially careful about the amount of physical work that you do in the days and weeks after the operation.

Give your body time to recover and follow all of your surgeons instructions. Ideally, you should also have a friend, employee, or family member assist you for the first few days after the operation, since this period should be dedicated to the recovery of your body.

Unique Childrens Furniture for the One Of A Kind Kid

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

One way to let children know that they are special is to give them unique children’s furniture for their room, play area or outside. Children love to have something that is different and something that is important to them. The internet is a great place to find unique kids’ furniture. Often this will give you ideas for what you might like to find for your child’s room, or your child may even see something they really like. Regardless of where you look, there are always possibilities if you just keep your eyes open for creativity.

Traditional

While this may seem a bit contradictory, traditional styles can be very unique. Often antique or antique replicas use patterns, styles and colors that are not commonly seen anymore. Girls often admire Victorian style furniture, and boys are frequently drawn to the western or rustic style of furniture. Try taking your child to a furniture store and asking their opinion on the various styles to get a feel for what they find pleasing. There is also the possibility of having furniture custom made to include the child’s name or interests into the design of the piece.

It is also possible to take a piece of furniture that is not intended to be children’s’ furniture and convert it to just that. For instance, a traditional bookcase could be easily converted into a display case for models, or perhaps an open cupboard for displaying dolls or other prized possessions.

Shape

Children delight in shapes that are different from what they normally see, or what they expect. Things like round bookcases are often a favorite unique kids furniture item in any room. There are also art deco type pieces that really catch the eye and spark the imagination. Some companies manufacture furniture with themes, and this works well if you can find a piece that matches your child’s existing room, or perhaps consider redoing the room around the unique piece.

Color

Children all enjoy color, and they love to mix and match color. Try covering a piece of your child’s favorite furniture in a color they love to make it unique. It is also possible to find furniture that is already painted in patterns and motifs that children love, or, if you are artistic, you can do this yourself. For example, an ottoman that is painted like a frog would be a great addition to a garden theme bedroom. Perhaps a canopy over the bed draped with pink mesh could complete the princess and castle them in a young girls room. Boys that love a particular sports team could have furniture in the room with that teams logo or colors.

Unique children’s furniture doesn’t have to be expensive, it has to be different than what they see everywhere else. Try shopping online to get some really interesting, creative and unique children’s furniture at within budget prices. If you are creative or artistic yourself, personalize the items by painting, adding motifs or stencils to the furniture to match your child’s interests and taste. Don’t forget to encourage your child to help out, as they can really help you make the item one of a kind.

BPO success in India is encouraging overseas companies eyeing Indian market for outsourcing their high-tech knowledge based jobs. Operational cost saving, pool of talented workforce, infrastructure improvement and favorable government policies are the major factors, which are responsible for the Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) in India.

According to a report by GlobalSourcing Now, the Global Knowledge Process Outsourcing industry (KPO) is expected to reach USD 17 billion by 2010, of which USD 12 billion (almost 70%) would be outsourced to India alone. Business Expense Reports

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Business Expense Reports are the records of all the expenses.incurred by the employees, top level to supervisory level, during their business visits on behalf of the companies. For this purpose, the business organizations should have standard business expense report forms. Nowadays, most of the companies are implementing web-based expense report software like Expense Management Automation (EMA), which automates and quickens the submission, approval and reimbursement processes of the business expense reports.

According to Aberdeens research group, EMA helps the business organization in reducing the time required for filling up the expense report by 60%, in decreasing the cost of processing a business expense report by 80% and also in cutting the time required for meeting the claim by 90%. This particular software is supplied by a large number of companies, namely Acceleron, PeopleSoft, SAP, Gelco, Oracle, etc. This software integrates all the processes starting from completing the expense report to receipt processing.

It is true that the employees expenses during their business visits occupy a vital role in the total expenses of the business organizations after salaries. Gospel Music: Tracing Back Its Roots

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Ever since some cognitive human beings have set foot on Earth, music has greatly taken part of their lives. The folks belonging to the days of yore created their own musical arrangements by plucking strings and hitting things like wood, hide, or stone. The sounds of nature have also served as one pleasant musical sound for them. They undoubtedly took pleasure listening to the sound of the waterfalls, the animals, and even the weather-related reverberations.

Music has then taken a further course. Throughout the passing of time, people have invented creative means of creating music. From the schools to the churches, there is music. The music industry has also created varied genres of music for all occasions.

You will often see or hear people preaching about the word of God. The gospel of the Lord is being delivered through the means of other people who serve as His own instruments. Simply listening to His words enlightens your spirit, right? God has often reminded His people to love one another as he loves everyone. He places every creation he has made under His car.. Although every person has been created in His image and likeness, still no one leads a perfect life. To put it in a much simpler term, no one is as perfect as God is.

Ones spirituality and faith can thus be manifested by several means. Reading the bible, following the ten commandments of God, praying, singing gospel music, and attending mass are among the typical ways by which ones spirituality is nourished. They often say that those who sing praise twice. Thus, by singing the gospel music, you are praising twice!

What is gospel music?

Gospel music is a religious music that contains the word of God. Gospel music is at all times used as one medium to praise God Almighty. In varying tunes and arrangements, gospel music can always be heard during the celebration of the mass, praise and worship activities, and healing mass.

There is no limit as to the use of gospel music. You can even make it as your morning praise habit. You can listen to it while driving your car. Or you can let it resound in your house. Some gospel music singers perform the genre in nightclubs and secular settings. These days, more and more gospel music are hence becoming danceable therefore making the enlightening of the spirit more effective.

The Roots of Gospel Music

The gospel music was first popularized by the African-American churches way back in the 1930s. Two styles of the gospel music emerged in those daysthat of the black people and that of the white southerners. Despite the two separate styles, gospel music still traces its roots from the Methodist hymnal. There came a time when the artists from the two separate categories sang the gospel music of each other.

The onset of gospel music has marked a phenomenon in America regardless of the distinction between the while and black churches. Indeed, gospel music has reached Australia that gave birth to the gospel choirs of Jonah and The Whalers and The Elementals plus the beginning of the Australian Gospel Music Festival. Norway also gave rise to both the Oslo Gospel Choir and the Ansgar Gospel Choir.

The Influences of Gospel

The trendy pop music had greatly influenced the gospel artists. In turn, gospel music has also influenced the rhythm and blues singers of the 1940s up to the 1950s.

Gospel music has reached the peek of its popularity. Until now, several other gospel musical artists are gaining their own fame for the genre and a lot other patrons are getting drawn on them.

The Tennis Court, Dimensions And Surfaces

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Tennis courts are standard in dimension, but vary widely in surface material. Tennis rules dictate the length, width, and placement of the lines on a tennis court. Tennis courts have a variety of surfaces and can be either outdoors or indoors. In this article, we will introduce the basic dimensions and aspects of the tennis courts and discuss the different types of tennis court surface..

The rules of tennis dictate that tennis courts be 78 feet long from baseline to baseline. A net, 3 feet high in the middle, divides the court into two equal halves. Tennis courts are 36 feet wide from doubles sideline to doubles sideline, and 27 feet wide from singles sideline to singles sideline.

Unlike the dimensions of a tennis court, the tennis court surface can vary in character. The different surfaces have different characteristics that affect the style of play. Common surfaces for outdoor tennis courts include grass, red clay, green clay, and hard courts. In addition, indoor tennis courts often have hard surfaces or synthetic, carpet-like surfaces.

The very first tennis courts were made of grass. While the number of grass tennis courts has decreased in recent years, some remain, and the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament, The Championships at Wimbledon, is still played on grass tennis courts.

Grass tennis courts are considered a fast surface because the ball moves quickly through the court when it bounces. Typically, the ball stays low and close to the ground. Because of the speed of the court and the unreliability of the bounce, historically players playing on grass tennis courts prefer to volley the ball out of the air whenever possible.

Red clay and green clay are the two types of clay, or slow, court surfaces. Red clay tennis courts are made of natural clay or crushed red brick. The French Open is played on red clay courts. Green clay, the more common type of clay court in the U.S., is made of Har-Tru, a mixture of crushed stone, rubber, and plastics. Clay courts are considered slow because the ball bounces more slowly off the court. Typically, players playing on clay tennis courts prefer to hit balls off the bounce from behind the baseline.

Hard courts, the most common court surface in the U.S., are another fast court surface. Hard courts are made of asphalt or concrete coated with a thin sealer and special paint. Some types of hard courts have more extensive, rubberized coatings. The ball bounces high off hard tennis court surfaces and moves through the court quickly. Because the ball has a reliable bounce and the ball moves quickly off the court, players can employ a variety of tactics. Generally, aggressive play is preferred.

Finally, tennis players also play indoors, especially during the winter, on indoor tennis courts. Indoor tennis court surfaces are made of concrete or a synthetic or plastic material that mimics grass. Indoor tennis courts are generally the fastest tennis court surface of all. At the professional level, hard serves, volleys, and powerful ground strokes dominate matches on indoor tennis courts.

The New Anti-Wrinkle Treatment

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Copyright 2006 Mary Desaulniers

We are bombarded on all fronts with new anti-wrinkle treatments and new sophisticated skin regimen that are supposed to take years off the facemicrodermabrasion, botox injections, face lifts and laser resurfacing. More than ever, we are harnessing the powers of technology to create a Brave New World of ageless boomers. And while I have no objections to wanting to look young (who doesnt), I do think that being young is more a state of mind than a state of looks. Looks can be artificially manipulated; a state of mind can only be cultivated.

Even the word cultivation tells us that the process of staying young takes time. And time is something our society seems intent on making dispensable. Yet the best things in life take time. Think of your children through the lenses of the family album; it is the change. tabulated in those pictures that make them so rich in character and experience now. Time deepens the experience; time ages the moment by filling it with layers made accessible through memories. Without time, we are like antsfilled only with a pale and surface instant. Living the moment is a call for cultivating the layers of time within the moment.

And so with the face; the layers of time that wrinkle a face are tributes to its resilience. It has weathered the helter-skelter twenties and it has survived the frantic pace of the thirties (when most of us had full time jobs and children). The marks of having lived a life rich in love, struggles, failures and successes are written all over our faces and it is these we need to embrace because they are not signs that we need anti-wrinkle treatments, but signs that we have struggled, we have loved and we have lived. They are the marks of a life that is extraordinary in its ordinariness.

These marks on our faces are not the things we need to fear; they are not the signs of age. The signs of age that we need fear are those that speak of a life unliveda terrified urgency to keep everything as is, a fear of learning new ways of thinking, new ways of doing things, a fear of going beyond right and wrong, or more specifically, a fear of understanding the world and its events from the heart without the prescriptive lens of right and wrong, a fear of change, of investing heart, mind and soul into someone or something lest it goes wrong, a fear of making mistakes, of having to start all over again because those mistakes showed you a new and different path, a fear of pitting yourself against the wisdom of the ages because you have a need, a passion to find out for yourself what is right for you.

I have seen age in twenty-something eyes and endless youthfulness in people over 70.

So what are my anti-wrinkle treatments?

1.Find something you love and pursue it to the end. Ignore all nay-sayers; just follow your heart.

2. Begin each morning and end each day with exercising your mind; a half hour or twenty minutes of meditation on all that is right in your world and what you have to be thankful for.

3. Cultivate the long-term vision; see the layers of possibilities within each moment in time; with such long-term vision you will never be unsettled by an individual event because you are open to what it will bring in its wake.

4. Eat healthy foods and exercise; a strong body will empower your sense of self so that you can sustain the courage to do what is right for you.

5. Honor yourself and honor the world and all that lives, breathes, moves in it (including rocks, trees and skies).

6. Honor your desire which is a calling for change. Most people dread change and end up on the sidelines wishing wistfully for something better. They have not learned to honor their desire. Desire as Dr. Lee Pulos states in The Biology of Empowerment, is the purest of potential seeking manifestation or change. Be open to change.

Last but not least, know in your heart that you will have no regrets because being young is knowing that you can start all over again.
