My Dad's New Style

Today I just noticed that my dad is wearing a new bracelet for men and I asked him where he got it from. He said he got it from my mom for their anniversary. I then was embarrassed that I completely forgot that yesterday was their anniversary. I think it was the 30th, but I don’t even know! It probably isn’t a big deal to them that I don’t remember though, because I forget every important day anyway. I even forgot dad’s birthday last year! It’s kind of a joke around the house now. Back to the bracelet: it looks awesome on a guy with a stature like dad. It makes him look like he’s a pretty rich guy. It doesn’t look girly at all. I’ve seen some bracelets that don’t even look like they were made for men. I’m glad mom took this into consideration so dad can wear his gift without the embarrassment.

My daughter Katie finally asked us for her first jewelry. My best friend recently moved to Atlanta, and after being separated for several weeks, I decided to take a week’s vacation at work to go visit her. She had told me about all the neat shops and great things to do in town. Even the food was to die for. But one of the things she forgot to tell me about were the great jewelry design Atlanta had to offer us as women. I do love a good piece of jewelry – whether it is a stunning necklace or a beautiful ring to wrap around my finger. I love jewelry. So while we were walking around Atlanta, I was struck whenever I saw this jewelry crafter who would make us the jewelry design we dreamed of. I knew back at home it would be so expensive, but here it was cheap but good quality. Besides, I was on vacation and could stand to splurge a little. Once my piece was made, it became a piece I never wanted to take off – even when showering or going to bed. I get so many great compliments about it, and I love being able to recommend that others visit the shop while they are in Atlanta.
